You can book an appointment in a number of ways:
Book an appointment by telephoning reception
Call us on 01494 675303 to book an appointment. You can telephone to be seen on the same day that you request help. The majority of our appointments are available on the day; however, a number can be pre-booked. When you call:
- You will be asked by the receptionist the nature of your problem, this enables the doctor to prioritise according to need.
- Say immediately if your call is an emergency.
- Tell us if you need someone to accompany you during an examination (a chaperone) or would like a private room to discuss any matters.
- Remember that the results of tests can only be given to the patient.
You can help us by:
- Being on time for your appointment.
- Letting us know in advance if you need to cancel.
- Calling for a home visit or urgent appointment before 10.00am.
- Ringing for the results of tests after 3.00pm.
Remember that not every complaint will require an appointment with the doctor. Many cases can be seen and dealt with by the practice nurses. The Minor Illness Clinic offers many treatments.
Book a GP Appointment using our 24 Hour Automated Telephone Booking Service
You can telephone the surgery at any time of the day or night to book, cancel, check or change a GP appointment using our 24 hour automated telephone booking system. Call 01494 675303 and press Option 1 to be taken directly to the automated booking system. You will be asked to key in your date of birth and then follow the simple instructions to access GP appointments of your choice.
Book a GP appointment on-line using Patient Access
In response to NHS England’s Patient Online Programme ‘Improving patient experience’, patients have been able to book appointments online and order repeat prescriptions online, since December 2013.
If you are a patient at Millbarn Medical Centre and you wish to start using this service, you can create an account using this link www.patient.co.uk/access.
Once you have created your account, you can book ONE appointment at the practice. On the day of your appointment, please bring in proof of identification (passport or drivers licence & recent utility bill) and check in with the receptionist at the desk so that we can complete your account sign up registration. You will then have full access to Patient Access.
Alternatively you can come into reception with proof of identification (passport or drivers licence & recent utility bill) and complete the application process at the reception desk. You do not need an appointment to do this.
From 31st March 2016, you will also be able to view your medical record online.
If you already have access to online services i.e. booking appointments, ordering repeat medication and viewing test results, you may now also see other aspects of your medical record.

Out of hours
Chiltern CCG has appointed Care UK to offer patients registered with our practice an out-of-hours service when our practice is closed for staff training. Staff training dates are shown on the home page of the website.
At all other times when the surgery is closed please call 111.
We offer an extended hours surgery for booked appointments only. This operates on Mondays between 6.30 and 7.30pm though this may be subject to change. Check with reception.
