We are now well into 2017 and there seems to be plenty of news affecting the NHS.
The role of the Patients Participation Group (PPG) is to act as a link between patients and the Practice. We can only do this by either our own observations and being made aware of any potential issues by patients themselves. But, we are not a forum for pursuing complaints.
We do try to inform patients of activities and changes within the practice, of both the staff and services. Therefore I would suggest that you visit the “Millbarn Medical Centre” web site monthly so that you can keep informed as to what is happening within the practice.
There could well be changes of staff, new services offered, or amendments to existing services, and unless you visit the practice you will be unaware of what is happening.
In particular, those of you who have visited the practice recently, will have seen the building taking place next door. Other that the disruption, this has caused the loss of a number of parking spaces. We would therefore ask that whenever possible, you do not drive into the car park.
The PPG and the Practice are planning to hold a public meeting in July, the date, time and venue to be announced, so watch for information both in the practice and on the web site.
Finally, the PPG has a membership of up to 14 members, but owing to various factors, we now have three vacancies. To be eligible, you only have to be a patient of the Millbarn Medical Centre and able to attend a two hour meeting every three months. There is sometimes an additional small commitment of time in between.
